Lunar Digital Assets has announced that 2026 is set to become the “Year of Litecoin Meta,” highlighting a major evolution for the Litecoin ecosystem. This shift marks Litecoin’s transformation from simply being “digital silver” into a programmable, utility-driven blockchain platform.
The momentum is largely driven by the launch of LitVM, the first EVM-compatible Layer-2 network built on Litecoin. This advancement enables smart contracts, decentralized applications, and advanced financial tools on Litecoin while maintaining its strengths of low fees and strong security.
Litecoin also recorded impressive activity, reaching 360 million lifetime transactions, with over 60 million new transactions in 2025 alone, reinforcing its position as one of the most used and trusted proof-of-work blockchains in the industry.
